How many times have you uttered that woeful expression?! "I've tried Lord". A lot of people build the rest of their lives on those very words, from the moment that they are no longer willing to 'try' again. It becomes almost their excuse as to acceptance of failure!
But I'm here to tell you the truth, that just because you've tried before, once, twice, seventeen times before, gives you no excuse to give up trying at all.
To give up is to accept defeat and to rubber stamp in your own mind and heart that the thing is impossible.
God looks for those who try and even if in their weakness they fail, he still expects them to lift themselves up by the taking hold of his hand of power, and dust themselves down and to try again.
People who keep going towards the promise, are those who in their heart believe that the promise is true and that if God has said it, then if they begin to line up their trying with his game plan for success, they will receive that amazing inheritance.
Failure is a state of mind that people get into when they're trying fails to produce the results they hoped for, but it shouldn't be the end of your story!
We should live with this mentality:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.."
It's the CHRIST part that is important here. We of our own selves and ability are no match for the unlimited resource of Gods spirit within us. This is why we need him and his grace so abundantly working in our lives.
Our part though is still important, that we keep TRYING and don't throw away our faith our courage and our determination to yield our will to him and to present ourselves for work on our lives.
If the people had never turned up with Nehemiah to build the walls of Jerusalem, it would never of actually been built. They had to be willing to let the word of God stir a fire within them, to get past their fears and feelings of hopelessness at the state of the burned city and to envision that wall built and the city restored.
It took them devoting their time and energy to a great, God inspired purpose, and to believe that despite the odds against them, the enemy's with their whispering words of negativity, the having to wade through the charred remains of the past which lay around them and to begin to fight ahead towards the NEW!
You will never experience the new thing God wishes to do in your life as long as you allow and give place to the negative lies of your enemy's, to stop you from trying. The feelings of past things that went wrong on your previous attempts at correcting a problem or the failed relationship which left you so hurt or the illness that's been lowering your faith. It can be many things and in many ways that you've been beaten down over. The things that have happened have happened and it may all feel like you have a genuine reason or reasons to give up but let me say this: there are no genuine reasons to give up!!!
God says to you that his grace is sufficient for you and that his strength is perfected in your weakness. Your past is no obstruction to Gods will being carried out today in you, if you'll rise up in faith and try and keep on trying.
When we try, we also prove our faith is based on reality not just words. We can all talk about Gods power and his word being for us, but its when we need to walk a thing out with actions behind our faith that we really experience the miracle that is, when FAITH meets SPIRIT it produces RESULTS!
